This November, the Q’Straint Quantum mobility device stations will debut on new 40-ft. buses in Rochester. The Q’Straint Quantum system will allow customers to secure mobility devices easily and safely, without needing additional assistance.
To use a Quantum station, a customer will center their mobility device against the Quantum backrest and press an ADA-friendly button to start the automatic locking sequence.
The Quantum system’s arms extend and secure the device in place. The system will continually adjust its grip on the device as needed throughout the journey to ensure security.
Once the customer arrives at their destination, the Bus Operator releases the device using a dashboard control so the customer can exit the bus.
RTS is slated to receive 36 new buses with the Q’Straint Quantum system between November 2022 and May 2023. Future bus orders will include this system as well.
