Access 101

Booking Your Trip

  • Use RTS Access Ride Request online or via app 
  • You can also call our scheduling department at 585-224-8330 press option #3.

If you call, be ready with your access ID, pickup and destination information and times of travel. Our schedulers will confirm your travel, additional guests, mobility aids, pickup window and fare.

Getting Ready

  • Know your window. We have a 20-minute window. For example, if you are scheduled to be picked up at 9:00 am, your bus can arrive between 8:55 am and 9:15 am
  • Be outside, ready and waiting a few minutes ahead of the start of your pickup window

Need to cancel?

  • To avoid violations, please cancel your trip at least two hours before the start of your window. Use RTS Access Ride Request or call us.

Boarding the bus

  • Do you need the lift but didn’t tell us? Before boarding, be sure to let your Operator know.
  • Don’t forget to have your exact fare and Access ID ready!
  • Keep in mind bags, and packages…too many is a no-go…
  • Choose your seat, remain seated until the bus comes to a full complete stop.
  • If you need help with your seatbelt, ask your Operator for assistance.

Finishing your trip

  • Want to be dropped off at a different door? Be sure to communicate this to your operator.
  • Please remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.
  • Check around, collect your belongings.
