Our newest service is RTS On Demand, an ADA-accessible public transit rideshare service. Here's a primer on the service and how to use it.
Where does RTS On Demand operate?
RTS On Demand is available in the following On Demand Zones: Brockport, Greece, Henrietta, Irondequoit, Lexington Av. Area, Pittsford/Eastview and Webster. Find maps and more on our maps and schedule page.
How do I request a trip?
There are three ways:
A web portal for requesting trips is in development and should be available later this year.
What should I mention when requesting a trip?
Whether you're using the app or speaking with Customer Service, please let us know:
- Where you want to be picked up and dropped off
- How many people you are travelling with; you can request a ride for up to 5 people (including yourself) at a time
- If anyone is using a wheelchair, bike, car seat, or other mobility aid
- Pick up notes: for example, I'm standing in front of the grocery store exit near the bookstore; I'm wearing a red shirt
How do I pay for a trip?
You can pay with RTS Go, blue passes or exact change. We recommend using RTS Go because it provides fare capping, meaning you can ride as much as you like and not spend more than $3 a day or $56 a month.
What's a curb to hub trip? What's curb to curb trip?
- A curb to hub trip is one that starts or ends at an RTS bus stop or Connection hub within an On Demand Zone. These trips cost $1.
- A curb to curb trip starts and ends at points within an On Demand Zone without bus stops or hubs. You must be at the curb for pick up. These trips cost $3. (Don't forget to use RTS Go, so you don't pay more than $3 in a day, no matter how much you ride.)
