Stay Safe: Wear Your Mask

As the weather gets colder and the number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise, everyone in our community needs to do their part to stop the spread of the virus.

We’ve heard concerns from customers and employees that not enough people are wearing face coverings, or not wearing them properly, when using public transit.

To keep our customers and employees safe, we are doubling down on our efforts to ensure everyone is properly wearing a mask/face covering. Per New York State law, all people onboard an RTS vehicle or when traveling through the RTS Transit Center have been required to wear a mask/face covering since April 2020. Starting today, customers who do not comply will be refused service and removed from RTS property. Employees who do not comply will be handled internally as a personnel matter. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us.

Free masks are available at the RTS Transit Center customer information desks as well at the front desk at the RTS Administration Building. Our enhanced cleaning procedures also remain in effect. You can learn more about the steps we’ve taken by visiting our COVID 19 Updates page.

We’ve put these measures in place to make it as safe as possible to stay connected. It’s part of our ongoing promise that no matter where the future takes you, you can count on RTS to get you there.
