On July 15, 2020, RTS will start collecting fares again, resume regular service for many of our Regionals, and implement a new boarding and exiting policy for our 40- and 60- foot buses in Monroe County.

Under the new policy, customers will board the bus from the front door and exit the bus from the rear door. Customers with mobility limitations will be able to exit the bus from the front door.

To help make sure Customers and Bus Operators stay safe, we’re continuing our enhanced bus cleaning program.  Bus Operators will continue to have access to masks, hand sanitizer and disinfectant; they will also receive a face shield prior to the changes on July 15.

Here’s an overview of the changes going into effect on July 15:

  • RTS Monroe: Resuming front door entry and fare collection
  • RTS Access: Resuming fare collection
  • RTS Genesee: Resuming regular service and fare collection
  • RTS Ontario Resuming fare collection; offering only Dial-a-Ride ($1 adults; $0.50 reduced fares)
  • RTS Orleans: Resuming regular service and fare collection
  • RTS Seneca: Resuming fare collection; offering only Dial-a-Ride ($1 adults; $0.50 reduced fares)
  • RTS Wyoming: Resuming regular service and fare collection

Plans are still being developed for RTS Livingston and RTS Wayne and will be shared when finalized.
