Regional Transit Service (RTS) announced today that it is implementing some changes to its service starting on Monday, January 1, 2024, that will provide access to key job sites in Monroe County. The primary changes will be made to Route 14 Marketplace, and include access to:

  • The New T-Mobile Call Center: RTS is making an adjustment to the Route 14 Marketplace, which will be re-routed to serve the new call center on Clay Road in Henrietta.
  • UR Medicine’s New Orthopaedics & Physical Performance Center: With UR Medicine’s new facility now open at Marketplace Mall, RTS is adjusting Route 14 Marketplace and moving a few bus stops. Rather than enter the mall property from the West mall entrance, buses will now enter from the mall’s East entrance. The bus stop that is currently outside the mall food court, will be moved to just outside the mall’s east entrance near the new UR Medicine facility.

Customers are encouraged to see the new schedule for Route 14 Marketplace and this flyer for more information on these changes.

New York State Assemblymember Harry Bronson said, “With the New Year, Regional Transit Service (RTS) will be providing new opportunity for the families of our community. With the extension of the Route 14 Marketplace service to the T-Mobile Call Center and UR Medicine’s New Orthopedics & Physical Performance Center, RTS is focused on connecting people to jobs. I applaud their commitment to serving to our families.”

“I am thrilled by today’s Regional Transit Service (RTS) announcement,” said Senator Jeremy Cooney (member of NYS Senate Transportation Committee). “This route expansion will better connect residents across the Greater Rochester area to economic opportunities. I have always believed that investing in public transit is investing in economic development. I would like to thank RTS, T-Mobile, and UR Medicine for making this connection possible.”

“RTS customers ride with us for a variety of reasons and to reach a variety of destinations, but they consistently tell us that the primary reason they ride with us is to get to work,” said RTS CEO Miguel Velázquez. “RTS has a long history of working with local employers and lawmakers to find ways to make it easier for people to find and keep their jobs. I thank UR Medicine and T-Mobile for working with us to find a way to meet the transportation needs of their employees and customers. And I thank our local delegation to the New York State Legislature for working hard every year to ensure we have the resources we need to serve the community. Special thanks go to Assemblymember Harry Bronson for supporting RTS and the role we play as a contributor to local economic development efforts, and Senator Jeremy Cooney who helped connect us with the leaders of the new T-Mobile site in Henrietta as part of his job accessibility and economic impact priorities. RTS believes that partnerships like these are among the best ways to grow our transit system and meet the changing needs of the community.”

RTS also has some other minor changes taking effect on January 1. Customers can view those on our website at https://www.myrts.com/preview.
