Expect the Unexpected at Fringe: RTS Bus Shelters are Venues

RTS lends downtown bus shelters for free performances

 

RTS customers and the public who find themselves at Broad Street Station bus shelters on Sept, 15, 16, or 17, are in for a treat—they’ll enjoy free previews of First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival performances by musical and magic acts.

The performances will be presented prior to the official start of the Fringe, which will take place in and around downtown Rochester’s East End Sept. 18-27. Dates and times of the RTS performances are:

Monday, Sept. 15
6 to 6:30 p.m.
Roc City Singers (Rochester Association for the Performing Arts premier show choir.)

Monday, Sept. 15
6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Amazing Magic Joe (High-energy local magician has performed for RMSC, Wegmans and Monroe County.)

Tuesday, Sept. 16
6 to 7 p.m.
The Lonely Ones (Well-known local Folk-Americana band has appeared at Sticky Lips and other venues.)

Wednesday, Sept. 17
6 to 7 p.m.
After Hours—A Cappella Hour (University of Rochester’s co-ed a cappella singers perform modern pop hits, indie classics and more.)

One of the hallmarks of the multi-arts Fringe is to stage performances in unique spaces. RTS is carrying on the tradition by providing four specially-wrapped bus shelters for the free performances. Broad Street Station shelters are located on Broad Street between Chestnut and Broadway Streets in downtown Rochester.
