RTS Announces Bus Pass Credit Policy for Customers Unable to Take Bus Trips due to the Coronavirus

Rochester, NY: Regional Transit Service (RTS) today announced the bus pass credit policy for customers unable to take bus trips due to the Coronavirus. If a customer recently purchased a Five Consecutive Day or 31-Day bus pass, and because of the Coronavirus are not able to complete their intended trips, this policy makes it possible for customers to get a credit that can be used for future trips. The policy is posted in English and Spanish on the RTS website at https://myrts.com/COVID-19-Updates. The policy is as follows:

Bus Pass Exchange Procedure:

Customers who have purchased Five Consecutive Day and 31-Day Passes are eligible for a credit. Customers who received these passes from any other governmental entity or community service agency are not eligible for a credit.

For purchased bus passes that have not been used/activated:

The customer should hold onto this as it has not been activated and can be used when fares are reinstated.

For purchased bus passes that have been used/activated:

In Person:

  • Customers can bring weekly and monthly bus passes to our main office at 1372 E. Main St., Rochester, NY 14609.
  • Please note that we are only collecting bus passes at our Front Desk. When dropping them off please provide your name and address so that we can mail you the replacement.
  • No bus passes will be provided at the time of drop off.

 

By Mail:

  • Customers can mail the bus pass to:

RTS

Rochester, NY 14609

  • Please include your name and address so that we can mail you the replacement.

Once the bus pass is received by RTS

We will need to verify the value remaining on the bus pass provided to us. We will then mail you a new bus pass for the remaining balance to use when fares are reinstated.
