Reimagine RTS Update: Public Survey Now Available

Regional Transit Service (RTS) today announced that the Reimagine RTS survey is now available on the RTS website at myuRTS.com/reimagine. The interactive survey is one way that customers and the community can participate in the Reimagine RTS system redesign study. Reimagine RTS is a planning process that RTS recently started to study and explore changes to the RTS fixed-route transit system in Monroe County.

“In order for the Reimagine RTS study to be a success, we need as much participation as possible from the community,” said RTS CEO Bill Carpenter. “If you are a current or former customer, a business partner, or someone who has never taken the bus before, please get involved and help us reimagine public transit in Rochester and Monroe County.”

While RTS encourages everyone interested to take the survey, there are a number of opportunities to participate in the study. Following are the current Reimagine RTS study participation details.

• The Reimagine RTS Survey

This interactive survey asks participants to identify priorities, rank possible route structures, and provide the locations of important destinations. Participants are also encouraged at the end of the survey to sign up for updates on the study from RTS. The Reimagine RTS survey is available online at www.myRTS.com/reimagine and on computers at the customer service desks at the RTS Transit Center. 

• Public Information Session

The first public information session – which is one of many opportunities for public participation – will include an overview of the Reimagine RTS study, a brief question and answer session and stations where attendees can participate in a variety of exercises. We designed this session to make it easy for the public to provide input and share their priorities.

• Pop-Up Sessions

The Reimagine RTS outreach team will be at a variety of locations in Monroe County to gather input and provide information about the study. Please be on the lookout for members of the team at locations such as the Rochester Public Market, Marketplace Mall and a few others.

•  Meeting-in-a-Box

Organizations interested in conducting their own meeting on the Reimagine RTS study can download from the RTS website all the resources and information they need to participate. The Meeting-in-a-Box kit includes instruction sheets for the host/facilitator, discussion questions, worksheets for participant responses, and directions for recording and returning responses.

There is also access to an online form to share thoughts and ideas on how to improve our public transit system.
