The American Public Works Association (APWA) has recognized the RTS Transit Center in Rochester, NY with the 2016 National Project of the Year Award.

As one of 20 public transit agencies that are part of the American Bus Benchmarking Group (ABBG), RTS is surveying customers in Monroe County about key aspects of its service and how it is used.

Regional Transit Service (RTS) today announced new and updated routes that will go into effect on Monday, April 4, 2016, making it easier for customers to enjoy the ride. New and modified routes will provide customers with faster, more reliable service.

Transit advocates, lawmakers and the Regional Transit Service (RTS) today called on Governor Andrew Cuomo to partner with the local New York State delegation to provide additional funding for public transportation in the Rochester area and the Finger Lakes region. Governor Cuomo has committed $8 billion to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York City, and upstate transit systems like RTS, public transit customers and advocates are urging him to provide proportional funding.

The opening of six new, high-tech bus stations around the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) and College Town was celebrated today by Regional Transit Service (RTS) CEO Bill Carpenter, Representative Louise Slaughter and Peter Robinson, vice president and chief operating officer of URMC.

The RTS Transit Center was awarded the “2015 Project of the Year Award” in the $25 – 75 Million category by the Genesee Valley Branch of the American Public Works Association .

Regional Transit Service (RTS) is pleased to announce that Maggie Brooks has accepted an offer to become the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.

RTS will provide free bus rides on New Year’s Eve beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015, and will last until the final bus lineup at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2016.
